Abstracts

All faculty, fellows, residents and students from APA Region I may submit abstracts for presentation at the meeting. Abstracts will be considered for poster or platform presentations. Work presented by students, residents and fellows will be eligible for award recognition. Online submissions are due by January 11, 2019. Authors will be notified at the end of January or early February

We do not accept case reports or historical abstracts. We accept Research and QI abstracts. Abstracts are more likely to be accepted if they relate to the APA mission: The APA is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all children and adolescents by promoting research, advancing a scholarly approach to education, developing innovations in health care delivery, advocating for an equitable child health agenda, and fostering leadership and career development of child health professionals.

Abstracts should be no longer than 2600 characters (authors and institutions, are excluded from word count), and should be in the following format:
Abstract title
Authors/Institutions
Background
Objective
Design/methods
Results
Conclusion

Maximum poster size 4 ft X 6 ft; posters do not need to be the maximum size and 36X48 inch posters are encouraged.

Please note, you may submit the same abstract to both the regional meeting and the PAS national meeting. The regional meeting offers an opportunity to practice presentations and to receive feedback from colleagues. In the past we have had authors contact us at the last minute informing us that they cannot attend the meeting. Abstract selection is competitive for this meeting. A submission implies that one of the authors will be available should the abstract be accepted for poster or platform presentation.
